The most special day is coming, when you are going to say "I do", as a witness will be your family and closest friends and for the memory, the photos. Definitely that day you must shine.

And taking into account that the hairstyle is one of the details with which you can show off, we talked to three experts on this matter, who told us what is being used for this season in cities like Cali, Medellin and Bogota.

IN CALI

The trend for this season is a 'carefree' style, where brides don't feel or look stiff, with very relaxed hairstyles, loose hair and loose braids.

For stylist Alex Sepúlveda, from FL Asesores de Imagen, the hairstyle also depends a lot on the type of bride. "A bride who is a little younger, between 23 and 26 years old, loves her long hair and looks for hairstyles where she can show it off. There we opt for braids, buns that are made with only half of the hair leaving the rest in waves."

"For contemporary adults, from 30 to 36 years old, we are using more elaborate updos and certainly more elegant and cared for, but not exactly rigid".

Another trend that is also quite relevant now is the 'Wet' style, which gives a slight wet effect to the hair. "You use wax, mousse, but without having it up. Although some brides like to incorporate a braid or an accessory."

This 'Wet' trend is used for brides who are getting married at night, with a gala party and a lot of glamour, in which the shine of the wet effect and the delicate accessories that can be used with this type of hairstyle are more appreciated.

And speaking of accessories, in Cali, the traditional veil is less and less used, instead, brides prefer to use more manageable elements, with a touch of glitter.

IN MEDELLIN

In this first quarter of the year, the trend in hairstyles advocates for freshness and naturalness, for loose and relaxed hair, where the bride looks a little more loose and youthful. With a lot of volume, a little frizz and no hairspray.

For more adult women, over 35 years old, more elaborate hairstyles are recommended but that do not require a lot of hairspray, but that have some rolls or crosses with the same hair.

As for the veil, Makis Posada, makeup artist at El Tocador, tells us that this is an element that in Medellin is still very fashionable for traditional brides. "What is being used at the moment are shorter veils, at shoulder length."

When it comes to choosing the hairstyle Makis recommends brides to know what the dress they are going to wear for that special day is going to be. "It is more important to think about the style of the dress to choose the hairstyle than any other detail."

"When we talk about necklines and more elegant dresses you should do hairstyles with all the hair up so that you don't see so much volume in the dress and in the hair."

IN BOGOTA

Meanwhile, in Bogota, the time and place of the wedding is what determines what hairstyle the bride should wear. "If it is in the morning or in the middle of the day, it can't be very tied up, the best thing to do is a more natural hairstyle. But, after 4:00 in the afternoon, it can be more elaborate, you can wear pearls, a tiara, rhinestones," advises Jorge Ramirez.

"If it is a country place, the most beautiful thing is a half updo or an updo that gives the feeling that it is getting messy. If it's at a social club, it's better if it's up-do because it's black tie and denotes more elegance."

As for accessories, brides in Bogota are very versatile. They use the traditional veil, natural flowers, tiaras, buckles with some glitter. That depends on the taste and style of each one.

According to Jorge, natural flowers are the element that women use the most, also because they can be used during the day or at night and it looks very delicate together with the veil. "If you are going to use big flowers, it is best to use just one.

The veil is also still in vogue, this can be long for a celebration indoors, medium or short for a country reception. "The veil is used in all lengths, even embroidered. This also depends on the combination between the dress and the veil".
